FAQs
What is JRNYS by Where Garyn At?
JRNYS is a curated group travel experience hosted by Garyn Gabriel and operated by Getaway Guru LLC. Each trip blends iconic must-see moments with immersive cultural experiences designed to feel seamless, elevated, and unforgettable.
Is this trip guided?
Yes. This is a hosted group experience with curated activities, local partners, and built-in support throughout the journey. You’ll have structured experiences balanced with free time to explore at your own pace.
How many people will be on this trip?
JRNYS experiences are intentionally intimate. Most trips host between 6–12 travelers to maintain quality, connection, and flexibility.
What is included in the trip price?
Each trip page outlines detailed inclusions. Typically, pricing includes:
• Accommodations
• Select in-country transportation
• Curated tours and experiences
• Select group meals
• Hosted coordination and on-trip support
International airfare, travel insurance, and personal expenses are not included unless explicitly stated.
Are flights included?
No. International airfare is not included. This gives travelers flexibility in departure city and airline preference. We’re happy to provide flight guidance upon request.
Is travel insurance required?
Yes. All participants are required to purchase comprehensive travel insurance that includes trip cancellation/interruption, emergency medical, and emergency evacuation coverage. Proof of coverage may be requested prior to departure.
What happens if I need to cancel?
Deposits are non-refundable. Additional refund eligibility depends on timing of cancellation and third-party vendor policies.
Because international travel involves non-recoverable expenses, participants are required to carry travel insurance to protect their investment in the event of illness, emergencies, or unforeseen circumstances.
Do I need a passport or visa?
A valid passport is required for international travel. Visa requirements vary by destination and nationality. Travelers are responsible for ensuring they meet entry requirements.
Will there be free time?
Yes! JRNYS balances curated group experiences with intentional free time so you can shop, explore, rest, or create your own adventure.
Is this trip right for solo travelers?
Absolutely! It is very likely JRNYS participants that are traveling solo will leave with new friendships. The experience is designed to foster connection while respecting personal space.
What type of traveler is JRNYS designed for?
Culturally curious, open-minded travelers who value community, intention, and good energy. JRNYS is not a party-bus tour (however we will definitely have a good time!). It’s a curated experience for those who want more than surface-level travel.
How do payment plans work?
If a payment plan is offered, deposits secure your spot and remaining balances are split into scheduled payments leading up to the final due date. Full details are listed on the booking page for each trip.
What if the itinerary changes?
While itineraries are carefully curated, adjustments may occur due to weather, vendor changes, or local conditions. Any changes will prioritize safety and overall experience quality.
What if I arrive late or miss part of the trip?
Participants are responsible for arriving at the designated meeting point by the stated arrival date and time. JRNYS is not responsible for missed flights, delayed arrivals, or costs associated with joining the group late. No refunds will be issued for missed portions of the itinerary. Travel insurance is required to manage trip interruptions.
What if I choose not to participate in a scheduled activity?
All activities included in the itinerary are optional unless otherwise noted. If a participant chooses to skip a scheduled experience, no refunds or credits will be issued for unused portions of the itinerary.
Am I responsible for my personal belongings?
Yes. Participants are responsible for safeguarding their personal belongings at all times. JRNYS is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged items during the trip.
What if there is a medical emergency during the trip?
In the event of a medical emergency, local medical services will be contacted. All related medical expenses are the responsibility of the participant and should be covered by required travel insurance. JRNYS does not assume responsibility for medical costs or outcomes.
What happens in the event of unforeseen circumstances or force majeure?
JRNYS is not responsible for delays, cancellations, or modifications caused by events beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government restrictions, political unrest, airline disruptions, or public health emergencies.
If such events occur, we will make reasonable efforts to adjust the itinerary; however, refunds may be limited to recoverable funds from third-party vendors.
Can JRNYS remove a participant from the trip?
Yes. JRNYS reserves the right to remove any participant whose behavior endangers the safety, wellbeing, or experience of the group. Removal will be at the participant’s expense and without refund.
How does roommate matching work?
Travelers who select the shared accommodation option may request to be paired with another participant. While JRNYS will make reasonable efforts to match compatible roommates, compatibility is not guaranteed.
Participants understand that roommate assignments are final unless both parties agree to a change and availability allows.
What if I don’t get along with my roommate?
Roommate compatibility is not guaranteed. Participants agree to approach shared accommodations with maturity, respect, and flexibility.
JRNYS is not responsible for interpersonal conflicts between roommates. Room changes are not guaranteed and may result in additional costs if a private room becomes necessary.
What if my roommate cancels?
If a matched roommate cancels before departure, the remaining participant will be responsible for paying the single occupancy difference, or if available, may be reassigned to another roommate.
Pricing is based on occupancy, not individual bed space.
Can I request a private room instead?
Yes, private room upgrades may be available for an additional fee, subject to availability. Private room requests must be made prior to final payment deadline.
Am I responsible for my roommate’s behavior or belongings?
No. Each participant is responsible for their own conduct and personal belongings. JRNYS is not liable for disputes, lost items, or damages between roommates.
